Week 18 Sunny Challenges and Creations

Hello again everyone, this week's sketch was by Kris, and as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I was going to do (doesnt happent very often). I decided that I would do the 'Black Magic' Technique because Upsy Daisy is one stamp set that really lends itself to so many different options. This is probably the reason it is my most favourite of stamp sets! To make my card I used Cherry Cobbler as my base. I ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the tulips embossing folder. I stamped my image on Basic Black card stock using White Craft ink and when it was thoroughly dry I used my SU Watercolour Pencils to colour in the image. When I had finished I matted it onto a piece of Old  Olive card stock and ran a band of White Tafetta ribbon that I had dyed Cherry Cobbler around the botton of the card. The sentiment is also from Upsy Daisy and that was stamped using cherry Cobbler ink, punched out using the large oval and sponged and them placed on a scallop oval in Old Olive. I attached the scallop oval to the card using dimensionals. I love the 'Black Magic' Technique and I am really happy as to how this turned out. Sail Away

Hi Stampers!

I thought tonight I would share a quick card that I made while watching the cricket with my husband (not). The baja breeze base had been sitting on my work table for a few days and has been moved from this spot to that. I was mounting the Sail Away stamp and thought I would use it with what I had on the table. I coloured the yacht with Watercolour Pencils and then used my Blender Pen to colour. I thought that I would distress the edges and this was very hard to do, because the whole time my mind is screaming at me to "STOP", it isnt straight or structured. I backed it with Baja Breeze and mounted it on dimensionals. I also matted the baja breeze on some Whisper White Cardstock that I had run the Very Vintage Wheel over and then embossed using the square lattice embossing folder.l I quite like it (I think), made me not step but jump out of my comfort zone of orderliness and into scraggy and distressed. (I wonder if they call is deistressed because that is what the artist is becoming the whole while! Well thats it for me today, so please let me know what you think, bye for now

Wild Wasabi, So Safron and Perfect Plum

Whilst I was talking to my good friend Kris yesterday,we were discussing my self challenges that I have been doing. So whilst talking to her I did the close the eyes trick and came up with the above colours. The random selection of stamp set was Loads of Love. So I set to work and put the Perfect Plum through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I love the way we can emboss our card fronts in this way and there are no gaps of where the embossing folder finishes. Stamped the truck and the flowers from the Load of Love stamp set onto water colour paper with Stazon, coloured it using the watercolour pencils and the aqua painter (how I love my aqua painter). I stamped the trees from this same set in So safron onto the So Safron cardstock, attached this to the Wild Wasabi and in turn to the Perfect Plum Base. I attached dimensionals onto the truck to make it pop and then attached so So Safron Ribbon that I had to finish it off. I quite like this one too. Let me know what you think! Bye for now. Gwen
