The Black Magic Love Affair Continues

What is this I hear you say? Well not Black Magic in that sense. I am talking about the technique Black Magic! I decided to participate in a SUDSOL sketch challenge, and this is what I came up with. I really wanted to use Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Basic Black, with the Black being the main colour on the top layer. Because this is what I wanted I decided to use the Black Magic Technique again. I am really loving this technique and I find myself looking at my stamp sets choosing those which I can use this technique with for the most stunning effect.  I decided to use Inspired By Nature, because of the big solid images. The colour I used in the chalks are yo yo yellow (retired) Pumpkin Pie, Real Red for the flowers and centres. For the Stems and leaves I blended both Garden Green and Old Olive to give depth and then gave a fine brushing of Chocolate Chip to to leaf tips.
The small flower from the stamp, I stamped on the tag by off stamping it twice on scrap before actually putting it to the cardstock. The Happy Birthday is from Vintage Labels. The Old Olive was retrieved from my 'another day' box and it was exactly what I was looking for as it had already been embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder. I do apologise for the qualoity of the picture, I think my old camera is well and truly past its use by date!
I had such fun doing this card, I love the result and the way it 'pops'. Let me know what you think.
Bye for now

  2. I too love this stamp for the black magic. I also used elegant eggplant for the background paper instead of black. Worked very well.
